The Neckless 1967 Gibson J-200

This J-200 came to us after falling victim to an unfortunate accident where it lost its original neck. This gave us the opportunity to complete a truly one-of-a-kind J-200 with unique appointments.

We were able to source a beautiful, flamey 3-piece new-old-stock 1970 Gibson L-5 neck which was finished and aged to match the patina on the body.
The torch inlay on the headstock was complimented by the addition of some period correct gold Grover Imperial tuners.
The end result was a one-of-a-kind conversation piece as well as superlative musical instrument that could be played and enjoyed guilt-free.

The "Moldtop"

Not all restorations are as drastic as a refret or neck reset, sometimes all a guitar needs is a setup and some very deep cleaning.

This 1970s Ventura Les Paul Copy was found in a barn where it accumulated a large amount of dirt, dust, corrosion, mildew and mold.
Because of its shocking state we refered to this instrument as the "Moldtop"
With some elbow grease this Ventura did clean up very nicely!
Thankfully all the electronics and hardware were salvageable. What sat in a barn neglected for decades was a lovely playing guitar once again.

Refret on a Vintage Martin

If you play a lot, the time will eventually come where your frets may need to be replaced. This may sound scary but a properly executed refret can make an old, tired guitar play brand new again.

If your frets look like this, it may be time for a refret.
The fretboard after the frets were pulled.
Brand new shiny frets.
Taking care not to overly sand the fretboard.

Custom Shop Martin Gunshot

Sometimes you have to embrace the stories your instrument carries, like when a customer accidentally shot his Custom Shop Martin with a Glock .45

The side was completely blown out
The entry wound.
The decision was made to solidify the cracks and epoxy over the holes.
The shot through the case.
The end result of what was a very bad situation.
