Here we have a remarkable example of a 1972 Fender Mustang with some of the finest organic weather checking and wear we have ever seen. Masterbuilt Heavy Relic eat your heart out.

This Mustang was found largely abandoned in the back of a music store in Southern Indiana where it had reportedly lived for at least 3 decades. The guard had shrunk and cracked, it was covered in mildew and the neck pickup was missing.

With a little work and a lot of cleaning, this little Mustang quickly became a shop favorite. The super deep finish checking, endless edgewear and armwear through the competition stripe revealing the black undercoat just oozes cool.

It has received a new bone nut and a period correct grey-bobbin neck pickup under the original cover. The G-string saddle has also apparently been replaced.

There is some fretwear but nothing that impacts playability. As far as short-scale Fenders go, this is one of the best we've had. I mean just look at it, something this played in must be good.
