1975 Martin D-76 - Natural
This is a limited edition Martin built to celebrate the American Bicentennial in 1976. The D-76 was limited to just 1976 examples, this being number 92, and shares most of its appointments with the D-35.
The traditional dot inlays were replaced with 13 stars as a nod to the original 13 colonies and there's an eagle with wings spread inlayed on the fast of the headstock.
Hilariously, this example was pulled from an outbuilding in southern Indiana where it was hanging in its original case from a meat hook for several years.
Despite the storage situation, the guitar survived in relatively good shape with no cracks or breaks, and some slight finish checking and just a few signs of playwear as a reminder that this is an almost 50-year-old instrument.
There is some stand rash on the back of the neck and some dings and dents throughout.
Sadly this guitar does not retain the original lifetime warranty card, we have reached out to the previous owner to see if it exists elsewhere and can be reunited with the guitar.
