1982 Fender Telecaster with Rosewood Fretboard - Black Stratoburst
From the Dan Smith era of Fender comes this Telecaster finished in very rare gloss silver-to-black "Stratoburst."
This finish is incredibly difficult to find any information on, and even harder to find for sale. Stratoburst was offered in 3 variations, (Bronze, Blue and Black) for only the 1982 and 1983 model years at a $100 price premium.
This example is remarkably clean with only light surface scratches, very little fretwear, a few small finish chips and the classic finish cracking around the neck pocket.
The guitar does possess pots that are date-coded 1975 but this would not be the first early 1980s Fender I've seen with pots from that year. It presents as 100% original and effectively plays like a new guitar.
The neck pickup is nice and creamy and the bridge is as snarly and as twangy as you could want out of a Telecaster.
Neck depth at 1st fret: .84"
